Dusk at Marshall point lighthouse.
A solitary lighthouse stands against a moody sky, with its light shining over turbulent waters. The wooden walkway leads up to the stone structure, offering safe passage above the rocky shoreline.
Situated on a scenic point of land near the village of Port Clyde, Maine, the current tower of Marshall Point Lighthouse was constructed in 1857 of brick and granite blocks, replacing the original which was built in 1832. An iconic wooden walkway supported by 3 granite block piers was the location where Forrest Grump concluded his cross country run in the eponymously named movie.
